Every couple years I change my chain. I don't buy the expensive o-ring chain.
I've been using "Chain Wax" from local Honda shop. I lube every couple times I ride, per instructions. It appears there's substantial build up on the chain. Because it's kind of thick I'm not sure it really penetrates well.
Which lube do you folks prefer?

Chain wax is very sticky and every time you spray it on without wiping off the old coating you are accumulating more of it on your chain; naturally, all road grime adheres to it as well. Either apply it less often or use a thinner, quality spray such as Spectro Z Clean Chain Lube.
Better yet, save yourself time, money and effort and buy a better grade chain; a high-tensile strength, o-ring or x-ring chain is well worth the added cost, in terms of reduced chain adjustments, longer life and less maintenance hassles.

Didn't find any Spectro locally so I picked up some "Pro Honda" High Performance chain lube. I'll see how that does. It was only $6 for the can.
