Forward control switches - metal locator pin?

Postby kstylian » Tue Jul 24, 2012 11:22 am

I'm going through and cleaning up the handlebar switches. Upon taking them apart I noticed the metal plate that helps locate the switchs in the handlebar detent hole is either missing, cracked, or the detent pin has sheared off.

Rather than buying two used switches off ebay in hopes of receiving intact detent pins/plates, has anyone come up with a clever DIY solution?

TIA!!

When I changed my handlebars I lost the little tabs, as well. I just clamped them down tight but admittedly they can still be moved if you hit something with your mirror.

If you come up with something, I'd be interested as well.

just take a some window screen and cut it to fit in the control switches. then just wrap the bar a time or two and tighten the controls up and your done.
