Is Your Choke Funtioning Properly? [TIP]

Postby Chris » Mon Sep 29, 2008 8:48 pm

:!: The last time I had my carbs off, I marked a line on each choke shaft that corresponds to the choke butterflies. From now on if I have any question about whether or not the choke is functioning properly I can just watch the shaft move instead of removing the boots to view the actual butterflies. You could probably put the mark on there while the carbs are on the bike, but I thought of it on the bench. The choke shaft should rotate almost 90 degrees from open to close. Be sure to mark both shafts as 1-2 and 3-4 could possibly move independent of each other.
