1981 cb650 CV carb choke spring

Postby stevenj76 » Sat Oct 18, 2008 3:13 pm

Hi all! I re-racked my carbs and need a count on the number of turns in the spring which holds tension between the choke plate's shafts and the choke cable turny go-roundy and open choke thing. Yeah, you know the part I'm thinking about. Thank GAWD for digital cameras, my photography skills far eclipse my technical explanation ability. Sorry to all parts counter guys everywhere.

Anyways, so far I have been guessing. My guess is that, when the choke is on, choke plates closed, a fair amout of vacuum will suck the plates open to let more air in. In other words, the tension on the spring is not very much, and I can easily push the plates to open.

I've got my money on NINE turns of that spring.
Reading here I know alot of you have reracked these carbs, please help!

That spring ties the choke on carbs 1&2 to 3&4 and also the actuator which is where the cable seats.
