Where do these carb tube need to go?
Where do these carb tube need to go?
Put the carbs back on and can't remember what to do with these?
Thanks
Re: Where do these carb tube need to go?
The upper one goes to a nipple on the airbox somewhere. For got where it is on the 81. The lower goes to the auto fuel shut off. It looks like it is missing on yours. Just cap it off.
Did you clean the tank out?!?!?!?!
Re: Where do these carb tube need to go?
Exactly.
BTW, you also miss the vent hose to the center valve cover (plugged by cloth now). Should also go to the airbox like the first, small hose.

Re: Where do these carb tube need to go?
Is this for the 650 custom?. im having starting problems, almost draining the battery to start from cold. Iv since found a tube coming of the air-box and is laying on top of the carbs. I cant see anywhere obvious for it to connect to.Looking at your pics I don't have the 2 into one tubes on top of the carbs. should

As an 81 I believe so, but you'd have to clarify your carb type for sure

You can see they are 81/82 CV's in the pic.

Welcome here!
Yes, you should. The hoses should go down to the "vacuum tees" between the carbs. Inspect them for being cracked (see schematic below). This often causes and cause trouble by that. They are quite expensive and may be replaced by other stuff that fits. The parts 10/11/19/20 are the "2 into one tubes" you identified in the picture above.

Re: Where do these carb tube need to go?
Custom or standard dont matter as far as the carbs go.

I'm gonna bump this thread to the top. It seems like every problem I have has been encountered and discussed before.

Can someone please verify that that these tubes are going where they need to go? I am at my wit's end.
