Never mind the advance shaft I broke the tip off and tapped a hole in the center of to use a screw with...
But that rod back there that's supposed to hold the ignition advance unit in place. How did it get pressed in there? I don't recall doing that. I suppose I must have torqued it down on there? But should it be able to press in like that? Has this ever happened to anyone? How would you get it out to replace?
What happened here??

George, thanks. I could sworn I inserted it. Anyway, never mind. I fixed it. Somehow the little index shaft in the back of the ignition advance part fell out and got shoved too far into the crankshaft. Yeah must have been a leprechaun or something came in and tried to torque down the part without lining up the index shaft/nipple part in place on the crank shaft smashing it in there. I got it out with a magnet and just shoved it back where it belongs and reinstalled correctly
