new here....new bike

Postby SYKO » Mon Sep 20, 2010 5:31 pm

My freind was riding this bike for a few years to work and I told him then if he ever wanted to part with it let me know, well he picked up a 79 harley1200 then gave me a call to come pick the CB up:beer

everything works on it (needs a new battery now) the only thing I have to do is replace a needle and clean all the float valves other then that its perfect all original other then the tavelcade seat and the windsheild.

plans arnt going to be much

sell the windsheild, seat, sissy bar, rear fender/lights, and a few other ods and ends then put on a little cafe fairing and tail...paint and call it a day and ride it to and from work

heres the pics

yea overal its a sharp bike but its just not my style :? ive run through a few other bikes allready a KZ400, an H2 and now this wich I plan on keeping for a change :P

only main problem I have to address besides a carb needle is the front brakes are sticking so Ill take the calipers apart and pollish all the slides and stuff

Welcome here! :D
Bike looks really good. Probably not that many miles. Front brakes are swimming type, often the glider bolts are sticking. Nevertheless a good idea to care for 30 year old brakes of unknown history, especially if you need it every day.
If you have a carb dirt problem, clean out the tank first to avoid multiple work. Carbs come out hard and without fun.

A 79 cap is way diff than a 80. All 80 plus 650 caps Ive seen are keyed.
Did you clean the tank out?!?!?!?!
