Re: 110 Octane?
Well, with my timing set dead stock, there is lots of pinging, rattling, and popping. Once I add about half a bottle of lead additive it runs relatively smooth, and if I add 2 bottles of octane booster to a tank of Sunoco 94 or Shell 93 it runs very well also. On pump 93 or 94 it has much to be desi...

Put an email address in place of the 'send to' on your phone, then open the email, load the pictures onto photobucket, and then post the img code as a response to a thread [img] is what it looks like. It sounds complicated but is really easy. WE NEED TO SEE THIS BIKE!

Re: noise ordnance ticket
How did you remove your baffles? I drilled out my rivets and cant pull them out! Can I drill holes in the back of the can? As for your officer, he was a super prick. But then again here in MI they really don't bother ya unless they think your drunk. My truck can be heard for 5 miles (literally) and ...

Re: replacement mufflers
POST PICS!!!! I've been trying to find a cheap alternative to the MAC exhaust for a while... My axle ate a hole through my right pipe and it sounds terrible! Plus my roomate needs exhaust for his Maxim X and doesn't want to sacrifice his first born son for replacement Yamaha parts... I'm exceited to...

110 Octane?
So my bike loves octane boost, lead additive, and all that other fun stuff. It really doesn't run the best on pump 94 octane alone, do you think it can handle straight 110 leaded? Or am I going to blow that little motor to pieces?

Re: how many miles do you ride
I put on about 55 miles a day to and from work, and weeekends 200 miles each way going back to Flint. Only major problem is NOW ON MY BIKE it costs me $40 to go to flint and back, where as when I bought my 2004 Ford Super Duty 4x4, I could fill its 38 gallon tank up for $58 and drive to Flint anbd b...

Re: 1981 CB-PITA
Not gonna lie, the thought has crossed my mind... I am just hesitant to buy one because I'm not sure if I like them yet. As for bugs in the teeth... I took my windshield off becasue I felt it looked stupid. If you can't handle shit hitting you... get a moped! Anyhow, do any of you guys have 'not-sto...

Re: 1981 CB-PITA
I can part with the chain guard, but the front fender is off because it intermittently rubs on the tire? I figured once I get new forks I'll throw it back on. The frame has some rust on it, and is driving me nuts! So I figured I can powder coat it this winter when the entire thing is ripped down to ...

http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f357/sole6454/mindy.jpg Well there she is, the cause of endless forum hopping and advice seeking. Despite all the headaches and the 'mile long' problem list, she still is getting me around on 2 wheels. 1981 CB650 K, 8,736 miles on the clock. Partially restored~ new...

Re: Exhaust Pipe Discoloration
It has been sounding pretty rough on start up, almost like a diesel. Perhaps it did go lean... as for those tubes, they are the factory pipes. As for cruising speed, I had it tapped out with the tach beyond redine in top gear :D It had a funky little front end wobble so I didn't stay there for more ...

Exhaust Pipe Discoloration
So I've been riding with the set of pipes on the bike since april, and until the past week they had a slight yellowish tint appear around the top of the primaries. Within the past week, ALL of the primaries have been blueing REAL bad, and are noticably discoloring. The only factor I am aware of that...

Re: Longest trip on a CB650
there is a place here in Grand Rapids that sells them pretty cheap, I think it's powersports parts on division, other than that Shawmut Hills up here has them in the $20 range direct from Honda. http://www.shawmuthills.com use the parts finder and it'll give you a price. I don't know if they ship to...
