Re: Simple ignition upgrade for starting problem?
My first try would be to let it crank with a strong (car) battery and look if the spark gets stronger. Basically one could connect the coils black/white cables directly to the battery for a try and see if it makes a difference. Anyway I would first like to verify that plug cables and/or caps do not ...

Re: My New 1984 CB650SC DOHC
Welcome here, Alexander!
Looks really fine!
It seems to become more and more difficult to get certain parts. Sorry I have no idea about possible compatibility with other models or brands here.
Hope that you get replacements or that you manage to get tight what you have now.

Re: Cam Lobe Wear
Welcome here! :D As the surfaces next to the pitting look smooth and without loss of material and there are no color patterns I would not worry too much. Of course the opposite surface of the rocker arms should also still look reasonable. I would listen for ticking noises at idle and keep an eye on ...

Re: O ring size for Fuel Pipe on 1980 carbs?
Thanks for the info.
So it seems the fuel connecting lines between the piston type carbs require 6x2 O-rings.
Did you check out for the T's (only between 1+2 and 3+4) and the accelerator pump tubes, too?

Re: Simple ignition upgrade for startup issues?
Welcome here, Kasper! :D New to the forum, just got a 1980 CB650, it did though come with starting problems. Well, then it is a real CB650. More precisely only cold start is an issue for most of us. Most simple and straightforward solution is to close the petcock about 500m before you stop the...

Here you can find some inspiration on what may help in "light" cases: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xL97mOan18g https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zlez_hdoWYk If damage is too much for that you could try to get a set like that that fits the CB650: https://www.common-motor.com/550-needle-val...

Re: O ring size for Fuel Pipe on 1980 carbs?
I did that "some" years ago (never try to turn these tiny tubes for cleaning! ) Sorry, but it looks like I did not write these dimensions into my workshop manual then. Possibly you find the carb manual helpful that is linked here: http://www.hondacb650.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=50...

Re: LED headlight with built in turn signals
The original CB 650 turn signal circuit requires (1) one cable connector for each side and (2) 2 x 21W bulbs for each side Therefore you probably have two problems: (1) how to distinguish left/right and (2) get a proper flash frequency with LED turn signals and stock turn signal relay I don't know i...

Re: My "new" 1980 CB650
I do not know for the 17" rear hub but for 130/90-16 tire width is the crucial factor. There is even a cutout in the chain guard as dimensions are very close there. Width variations between manufacturers or tube type vs. tubeless tires might play a role in this case so have a look.

Re: 1980 CB650 - Want to make it a Cafe Racer (need parts help)
Welcome here, Ken :D I might have added to many items, but want to see if you all had some good suggestions on parts. I am looking forward to your ideas. I just like to mention that you obviously have the the 79/80 PD/piston carbs that are not that forgiving with regard to exhaust and moreover air s...

Welcome here!
Note that a dual piston caliper (as for the '82 models) may require a different piston diameter for the master cylinder, too.
Better find out before you buy something!
