Re: 79 CB650 Restoration in Process
The engine is still pretty clean and won't take much to clean it up. The headers are pretty blued up... Somebody has been running it hot. Might check the plugs for a lean condition.

According to Mr Volker's numbers the rotor should be 4 to 10 ohms.

Re: 750 Stator on a 650 ?
Looking at the rotor the rings are the brass looking circles that the brushes would be contacting.

Re: will they fit
FYI: I recently purchased an 85 CB650SC also and it came to me with a Uni filter. The plugs were to white to suit my tastes so I replaced the Uni with a stock Honda filter to get more fuel flow. The bike now has a bit more soup and runs better in general. IMHO

Re: My First Bike: 1980 CB650 Custom
Hey bud glad you are liking the parts. Didn't know you needed a seat. I do have an original seat in pristine condition if you are interested. Advertised on this site in "bikes" .... CB 650 seat 1980-81.

Re: Side covers for 80-81 CB 650
The only difference I know of is the custom covers have an emblem instead of the decal. This does mean that the custom cover will come with holes for the emblem to mount thru. I have good metal emblems for the custom set mentioned in the e-mail.

Re: Making it my own...
Kudos for the seat, it looks nice. FYI: If you shorten the fender you get wet nasty stripe up your back and head if the road gets wet. You also devalue your bike (throw away money). IMHO

Re: 83 nighthawk Headlight issues
Check the new bulb to the battery just for grins. Also my horns didn't work either, and as a desperate last thing to try I adjusted the screws on the back of the horns. Horns went honk honk.

Re: Looking for side covers 1980 CB650
I do like the candy red color on the side panels. I have not seen it on a complete bike in person however. They would be an easy prep for a repaint/color change. I figure if a person is needing side covers they are likely building a bike and will need to repaint anyway.
