Re: 80 CB650c Carb and starter clutch problem
If you found this thread http://www.hondacb650.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=242 I described the parts I did myself. Of course you may not want to, your choice. Still - Plungers - went to a machining shop, and they did them for me cheaply. I only asked for much harder material. Springs - tried differe...

Another thing - it happens to everybody - did you connected the cables correctly? That is 1-4 and 2-3 from respective coils?

Re: Need Carb boots for 650..where?
There is (as usual) a cheapo solution. Did it on my bike, and it works - still :D Take an old boot, or take a measure of length and inner diameter. Go to any car parts store and look for a reinforced coolant hose. I found one with close diameter, cut it to pieces, and installed it. Never looked back...

Re: 1981 Honda CB650 custom starter clutch
My tip - from experience - all needed parts (springs and plungers) you can make/order yourself. Anybody with lathe will make you plungers - just ask for harder than usual material. As for springs - the H-2 steel string for guitar is a solution. You just need to wound yourself a new spring from it. I...

Nope. Not without frame alteration. Check sohc4.net forum, there were similar topics.
And how you expect to feed a bigger engine with carbs designed to feed a smaller one ?

That is a truly VAGUE description. Well, it appears that it doesn't fire like others do. Did you had a look at the spark plug?

Re: won't start after a ride
By all means, of course! It's not mine.. YET! I think next year it will be mine. So far I'm just servicing it, and that gives me access to a ride or two. The torque is GRRREAT! Fuel consumption too  There is no point in selling my CB as it will fetch ridiculous price, and mine is in a pretty g...

Re: Fork Spacers
I put some spacers on mine (that was the cheapo fix) and it works reasonably well. It won't turn the forks into upside-down ones, but it helped noticeably.
I recommend this fix.

Re: won't start after a ride
I've been through starter clutch few times. There's a good topic on this forum about it, with photos and all. My 2 cents - when engine gets hot (not oil, it's about engine in general) the metal expands, that it, the little push pins that push the rollers in the clutch will swell a little. Add to it ...

Re: carb sync
???
Synced carbs (if they are truly synchronized) will run at any rpm (until, say 800 rpm, where engine should stall). Can you give more details? Maybe the problem is with your idle, not carb syncing?

Re: A stupid mistake
My tip - IF you have helicoils, save yourself the trouble, and helicoil all M6 threads in the head. If you don't have helicoils - go and buy them, and then do the threads. You have 90% chance of stripping one of them, and then you need to take cover out again, do the thread, and when you are torquei...

Re: 1981 carbs overflowing UPDATE!!!
If you want to sleep well, just attach separate hoses for each carb (where T-hoses go), length - so they come up over the carb tops (for security) and problem will be gone for good. Small hole may be not enough, and secondly, if there will be fuel, it will overflow on engine case, which is bad. Good...
