Re: nightmare carb problems on a 79 650
i had a mechanic take a look and it's still at his place but i'm going to snap photos when i get the bike back this saturday. i'd rather run the bike stock, but i'm confused about this whole choke cam thing, is that something that can be fixed or bypassed? my idea for now is not ideal but... if i bl...

nightmare carb problems on a 79 650
SO i bought this bike in january for $950 and put about $400 into parts and haven't ridden it since the day i bought it. here's why: the bike came with some cb750 carbs and pod filters. ran really rough, opened her up to check it out and lo and behold one of the float bowls was mangled. so bought a ...

'79 air intake manifolds... dime city? or maybe homemade?
anyone have any experience with dime city's oem parts? i'm looking for a stock set of air intake manifolds for my 79, found some on dime city cycle's page. wondering if they're a fit.
if that's a no go, how about just using some radiator hose and sealing it with silicone and electrical tape?

Re: 1979 cb650 stock carb - air boots
i have stock 79 650 carbs now, took the old 750 ones off.
so i'm looking for the air intake manifold for a stock 79 cb650. if anyone has a part number that would be a huge help or knows of any compatible parts?

1979 cb650 stock carb - air boots
Bike was all ready to ride until the carbs got cracked open to clean... broken float bowl. Unsure of carb year/model (74-77 cb650?) so replacing with stock 79 carb. I have all the parts needed except the stock "air boots." Not sure if that's the correct name, but what I mean is the four ru...

'79 with '75 CB750 carbs and pod filters... jet size?
Newbie to bikes/engines here, please forgive me if this is a preemptive question. Picked up a pretty good condition 1979 standard, and I haven't had time to crack it open yet (cold Boston winter), but I want to get a better idea of what to expect when I do check the valves/carbs. Here's the situatio...
