Re: Poor running CB650 -80?
I would check the spark on the colder pipes your pulser gens can cause a colder or erratic spark causing the bike to miss and run colder on 2 cylinders The pulse gens should be around 550 ohms at 60 deg but check them after the bike heats up and see it you get close to the 550 + - 200 ohms hot check...

Re: 79 cb650 heats up and wont start
Next time it won't start try hitting on the Starter Relay my bike had problems starting ( turning over) when it was hot and the relay was the problem.
The starters brushes , bearings can both be problems as well.

Re: Running rough after 15 or 20 miles of riding at slow spe
I cleaned all the connections as well but did not help since it was the Pulse generators.
I may just have to take apart the pulse gens to see what is on the inside.

Re: Running rough after 15 or 20 miles of riding at slow spe
Well I think I figured it out but only time will tell. I will say this if I am right, I will have a few interesting thing to teach a few people Online about the problems they are having with there bikes. The main thing is it was not bad coils totally, it was mostly the pulse generators being half ba...

Re: Running rough after 15 or 20 miles of riding at slow spe
I checked the Pulse generators with a meter They were out of spec Changed them out will see how that does this weekend The bike seems to run some better at idle. The spec on them is around 530 OHMS + - 50 OHMS one checked 536 ohms other was 795 ohms. now timing and every thing seems a little off so ...

Re: front brake calliper and master cylinder overhaul
Air works but watch out and place some thing soft in front to catch the pistons so you or the pistons don't get damaged.
They come out like a cannon if you use to much air.
The clip in the master cylinder was the hardest thing to get in and out and then getting the return holes open was hard as well.

Re: Running rough after 15 or 20 miles of riding at slow spe
It seems to be better since I re gaped the Puler generators So they must be getting weak. Also the bike has not been knocking the last 2 days or acting up. I think this has it fixed for now, I have a used set of pulser generators on bid from e-bay I just hope they are good. I think most of the time ...

Re: Iggy pickups
I would think it would have a coil of coper wire rapped around a metal bar and maybe a diode but I have never cracked one open.

Re: Running rough after 15 or 20 miles of riding at slow spe
I plan on tighting the cam chain fri But I doubt that will help the knock. The bike has done it from time to time and last fill up was at a country station they did not have premium gas so I got regular The bike does not like regular at all. I think I need to Re clean and set the carbs. Maybe the ti...

Re: Running rough after 15 or 20 miles of riding at slow spe
The plugs I have are non restive plugs and the resistor boots connectors were on the bike with this type of plugs so it has only one resistor on each wire. but thanks for telling me me about the issues of having more than one resistor on each wire/cylinder. I did re-gap the Pulser generators to the ...
