Re: '79 home made cafe seat and bobber plate
I agree. i will also have the seat skeleton wider than the frame next time so it sits cleaner. I painted the cut frame last night so its a little less noticeable now. Im open to any ideas on where to take it from here. Also, any ideas on color schemes or if i should keep original would be appreciated.

Here are some recent pics of my 79 cb650. First off i apologize too everyone who hates messing with classics but in order to learn you have to start somewhere and i started with a $1500 well running toy. im not worried about cutting the frame because nothing is compatible with this darn 79 frame any...

'79 cb650 master cylinder replacement
Hi all,
my master cylinder is leaky and just plain ugly... Id like to replace it with a smaller cleaner one.
Are there any issues with compatibility i should look out for?
Is there a certain type or size i should be looking for?

Re: dumping Oil when hot
after cleaning all the grease and chain o-rings (i dont understand how there were so many broken o rings in there?) out i believe that the oil seal was not pushed in all the way... after reviewing the manual i see there is only one oil seal which is plastic and on the diagram there is no rubber gask...

Re: dumping Oil when hot
Thanks for the reply.
I believe its the transmission heres a pic, notice the spill on the ground.
also a chewed up rubber gasket fell out when i took the cover off, that could be the issue. Any idea what that goes to?

Once its on the back stand it stops. I cant see where it is coming from but im sure its not oil drain or filter. So my problem ...

Re: Leaky Carbs?
Im having the same issue and im pretty sure its the float bowl gasket since the previous owner said he did a rebuild but did not change the gaskets (which is odd because i believe the kits come with new gaskets?) '79 cb650 leaking carbs
Hi Everyone! I just bought myself a 79 cb650 and it came with some leaking carbs. I got a pretty good discount off the asking price because of the leak so i took it. I had a cb550 a while back and i kinda know my way around the engine. I also believe it is running rich. I have never rebuilt carbs or...
