Update! The other day whilst having a look around the bike when running, I bumped the #1 spark plug wire and it gave me a trickle shock. I went and replaced all wires and caps with new ones (NGK). Does the gap, between valve adjuster screw and contact surface on valve increase, or decrease with temperature? Or, does it basically remain the same?

It makes sense that a pitted adjuster bolt would give false readings. I have yet to check them, but plan to inspect them all.
