Re: First ever post, My chopped 81 CB650

That's a pretty cool looking bike. Almost looks like a Harley. Your oil pan leak should be an easy fix, it's just a rubber seal that goes all the way around the pan. If I remember right you might have to take off your exhaust to get to all the bolts. I think there are ten of them. I got my head gask...

Re: '80 CB 650 Custom for sale

Sorry, I sold the bike already. Check the local craigslist postings, I am always seeing old bikes for sale and plenty of hondas. Yeah, I get on craigslist and ogle. Some day... :D

'80 CB 650 Custom for sale

Hey guys, sorry to say this but I need to sell my bike. I can't do anything with it because I don't have a title or a bill of sale (no, I didn't steal it  ). I knew nothing at all when I bought this thing as a piece of junk. I put a lot of time and effort into it and in turn received quite a b...

Re: honda cb650 custom 1980

Nighthawk carbs will not fit your bike. I have the same one and before I really knew anything I bought a set of nighthawk carbs only to find out that they don't fit at all. Echoing what has been said above, the right carbs start with the letters PD. I will try to remember to check my bike and give y...

Yep!! You missed out by not having them shoot across the yard. I'm just glad that I had read about it before trying it so I didn't shoot myself!!

Tig welding

Just wondering if anyone could give me an idea of what it would cost to get some pinholes on my tank tig welded at a shop. That is the only thing standing between me and riding. I have patched it in the past and want to do it right. Thanks!!

Re: Should I buy

It might actually be easier to take the carbs off, put the airbox on and put the carbs back on. Whatever you think will work. Post some pictures.

Re: Manufacturers blueprints?

Thanks!! We got it fixed. It turns out that it wasn't his fault. He was fixing a leak and some striped bolts. There was a special way to put the piece back on and mesh all the gears. It was the torque converter that we were having trouble with.

Yeah, I second that! Once I get my tank redone I am going to put some nose art decals on the side where the honda logos go.

Manufacturers blueprints?

Hey all, my friend has a 78 hondamatic 400 and he took a piece off and can't put it back on. I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get a copy of the original plans or blueprints or whatever they are called. It would be nice to have access to something like that for my cb 650 as well! Thanks!!

Short ride!!

Here is a video I made with a camera hung by a shoelace around my neck. It makes the ride look a lot bumpier than it really is and the wind messes up the sound. I wish I had hung the camera a little higher. Oh well.

Re: 1981 Honda CB 650 c For Sale spares no title

Sorry to troll your post but I have a question. Your bike doesn't have a title, was it hard to get it registered and legal to ride? Do you have to get a title? I got mine dirt cheap and fixed her up and it doesn't have a title or any paperwork. So it's backroads until I figure something out.

Re: New potential owner '82 CB650SC

Also, when you take apart the caliper make sure that the cylinder bore is smooth and not warped. Mine had a small amount of pitting but it was mostly inside past the o-ring. I don't have any leaks and it works fine. You may need an air compressor to get the cylinder out, but always hold it facing aw...
