Yeah I was way off. The suzuki has a mechanical tach. I was making poor assumptions. I now know that the suzuki speedo runs off the front wheel.

How universal / interchangeable are speedometers
Just a quick question for everyone. Does anyone know how universal speedometers are. I have a round speedo from my suzuki that I want to put on my honda. The thing is that the speedo cables are the same and screw on no problem. But the speedo on the suzuki runs out of the engine, off the cam maybe. ...

To drill or not to drill...advice / input needed
I have torn down my cb and it is now basically a roller. Now I am looking at how I am going to modify it and where I need to relocate things. One of the things I am looking at doing to give it a much cleaner look is drilling holes in the frame to run some of the wiring. I'm not talking about making ...

Re: My latest toy
Thanks Wingman. I think that chart should be a sticky somewhere in this forum. Maybe we could get the moderators to start a download section where useful documents like this could be posted.

Re: My latest toy
Using the charging system flow chart I was told that I had a wiring problem and to start checking the connections in the circuit. I decided the most logical place to start was the battery. That was luckily where I found a host of bad connections including a completely ruined (burned) + cable. I als...

Re: 1983 Honda CB650 Bobber Project
Volker, Your advice and wise words are well received. At this point my intent with the suzuki is to mothball it until a later date. I realize the CB is a good functional bike as is but I am looking for a bobber. Unfortunately for all you CB fans out there it is probably criminal knowing what my inte...

Re: 1983 Honda CB650 Bobber Project
Thanks Volker_P. I'm sure your advice will come in quite handy. My big problem right now is getting the big into the basement. I tried last night to bring it in through the side basement door but I couldn't make the turn. All I had for help to was my fiancée and she is 5' and 100 lbs soaking wet. Do...

1983 Honda CB650 Bobber Project
Hello everyone. I am new here but will be checking in frequently. I have been wanting to build / modify a bike with a bobber as an end result. I started out with a Suzuki gs400 that I got for $40 off of Kijiji. It was missing a ton of components and was going to be alot of work. Then I stumbled acro...
